The Power Hour with Dr. Joanne Conaway features internationally acclaimed speaker and author, Dr. Conaway, presenting her unique perspective on what it takes to be healthy in a world filled with the conventional medical and Big Pharma approach to wellness. She and her guests share an all-natural approach to health and wellness, not the sickness-care approach so prevalent in today's health care industry. "Prevention" and "Early Detection" are not the same. Dr. Conaway's approach is truly prevention, sharing her experience working with hundreds helping them to understand what it takes to be healthy in our very unhealthy world. With her unrelenting research to find what is the latest real-world information that supports her philosophy and approach to the body - mind - spirit, she will share what she has learned and help listeners understand how to get it right.

Dr. Conaway has a unique perspective of medicine and healthcare having started her career as a nurse earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1976. Her experience is in ER and Trauma Nursing, Operating Room and Critical Care, Infection Control, Cardiac Care, Nursing Education and Management. She spent several years doing specialized Nutritional Support Nursing. During those years, she cared for people who could no longer eat by mouth, receiving all their nutrition intravenously or by tube feeding. This experience sparked her passion for helping people understand the importance of a healthy diet and a healthy digestive system.

Dr. Conaway is a Retired Lieutenant Colonel having spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves, many of those years as an Aeromedical Evacuation Nurse. Unable to feel comfortable caring for patients following the mainstream medical model, after learning so much about the all-natural approach, Dr. Conaway retired from nursing early, went back to school, is now a Naturopathic Physician.

She is the author of the book, "Why Is America So Sick? Linking Digestive Health to Immunity and Hormonal Issues". Her most popular lectures include a 2-part series of the same name and "You Are What You Digest - Understanding the Gut -Brain Connection". All are available on her website, www.drjconaway.com.
