A three-and-a-half year NCAA investigation into academic fraud at the University of North Carolina ended with no evidence of wrongdoing being found despite UNC student-athletes taking classes that never met, had no instructors, and required just one term paper to be written and graded by a secretary.
UNC was alleged to have directed student-athletes to classes in its African and Afro-American studies program that were easy A’s in an attempt to keep them academically eligible to play sports. The NCAA couldn’t punish UNC for its African and Afro-American studies program because while most of the students enrolled in the classes were student-athletes, some of them weren’t.
Since the NCAA couldn’t find evidence in support of Tar Heels basketball player Rashad McCants’ allegations that tutors directed him to the courses and wrote papers for him, no action can be taken against the university. The only sanction taken was against the African and Afro-American studies department chair, Julius Nyang’Oro, who is retired, and it only limits his ability to obtain a job in college athletics.
So all colleges have to do in order to keep their student-athletes in the game is offer courses that require no learning to take place. Courses like billiards and bowling are apparently not easy enough, since they actually require student-athletes to attend. At my alma mater, enrollees in bowling were required to bowl a certain number of frames in order to pass the course, which could be done in a day. That’s still more than what was required of UNC enrollees in African and Afro-American studies.
Now that the NCAA has proven its inability to govern scholastic standards for student-athletes, the U.S. Department of Education needs to step in and eliminate or improve courses that have no place in postsecondary education. I’m not talking about cutting bowling and billiards. Those courses still require attendance, and you might even learn something if you take them seriously. I’m not talking about eliminating online courses, either. But I think an investigation of the term papers for UNC’s African and Afro-American studies program would prove that these courses are not of the caliber associated with accredited colleges and universities.
UNC might not have been found guilty, but everyone associated with and aware of the African and Afro-American studies program should be ashamed for depriving Tar Heel student-athletes (specifically African-American athletes) the knowledge of African and Afro-American history and culture. So instead of these athletes being informed, culturally conscious citizens, UNC is guilty of producing athletic automatons -- fast-running, high-jumping yes-men and -women with little to call on to form their own opinions and beliefs of the world around them. It’s a shame and a sham.

I have a couple questions for you to preface this week’s column.
Who is Leon Czolgosz? Who is Charles J. Guiteau?
The answer: Leon Czolgosz was President McKinley’s assassin.
And Charles J. Guiteau is President Garfield’s assassin.
Most people do not know who these men were because at the time, it was for the world to know the facts as to what took place concerning these assassinations. These were not conspiracies. They were simply two men who took things into their own hands and committed the act of murder (1 John 3:12).
There were no diversions, no media cover-ups. They were simple cases to solve, as it was reported through eyewitness accounts and easily solved.
Now, let me ask you who was John Wilkes Booth?
Most can speedily answer with “That’s easy, that was President Abraham Lincoln’s killer!”
The same with John F. Kennedy’s assassination, that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible.
Year after year, new generations are raised up to believe, by the media and lies in textbooks, that John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald were solely responsible for the assassinations of these two presidents. A Gallup poll, for what it’s worth, taken in the U.S., reveals that 61% of the American people still believe that the JFK assassination was a conspiracy while the establishment media is hard at work doing their best to keep the up and coming generation deceived into believing their contrived theories and covering for those who are committing the act of conspiracies.
CONSPIRACY, noun
A combination of men for an evil purpose; an agreement between two or more persons, to commit some crime in concert; particularly, a combination to commit treason, or excite sedition or insurrection against the government.
P.S. In this country it is the American people that are the government! Read the preamble to the U.S. Constitution.

As a matter of fact, you will find that for decades in this country, it has been the controlled media who has been demonizing and accusing those of being “conspiracy theorists” or just plain “crazy” when it comes to questioning the narrative that they attempt to set.
Below are Conspiracies that were sold by the controlled media as “conspiracy theories.”

“Operation Mockingbird,” was a fully implemented CIA program to spread disinformation throughout American media. In the early 1960s, American military leaders drafted plans to create public support for a war against Cuba, to oust Fidel Castro from power. The plans included committing acts of terrorism in U.S. cities, killing innocent people and U.S. soldiers, blowing up a U.S. ship, assassinating Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees, and hijacking planes. The plans were all approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, but were reportedly rejected by the civilian leadership, then kept secret for nearly 40 years.

In 2002, Rockefeller authored his autobiography Memoirs wherein, on page 405, he wrote:
“For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents … to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”

Now think of that. The media, in whom 94% of the people do not place any trust, and rightly so, wants you now to believe them when they tell you something that is in stark contrast to what the eyewitnesses have seen with their own eyes concerning the shooting that took place in Las Vegas.
Look at the diversions and inconsistencies that are taking place.
Furthermore, the stupidest and most telling thing that the controlled media has done here is tried to convince Americans to disarm in the face of an alleged mass murderer with a gun.
How stupid do they expect the people to be? (Just look to Hollywood) This is very telling as to the responsible party when you see a concerted effort from corrupt politicians, as well as the corrupt media, to call for gun control.

Conspiracies are very real and they continually breed when you let the conspiracy go as a theory. Remember who is telling you it is a theory. For history shows us, that it is, in fact, the media giving cover to those who are committing the act of conspiracy.

The World Health Organization (WHO) finds the number of obese children in the world to be 10 times greater than what it was 4 decades ago.
They estimate currently 50 million girls and 74 million boys are obese worldwide.
Back in 1975 only 11 million children worldwide were obese. Now the number sits at 124 million.
True, population has grown since then, but the percentage of children obese is exploding -- 19% of girls and 22.4% of boys in the US are considered obese.
Adult obesity is skyrocketing as well. In 1975 there were 100 million obese adults worldwide. This jumped to 671 million in 2016 and doesn’t include the 1.3 billion “overweight” adults.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states the following:
Obesity is defined as having excess body fat. Overweight is defined as having excess body weight for a particular height from fat, muscle, bone, water, or a combination of these factors. Body mass index, or BMI, is a widely used screening tool for measuring both overweight and obesity. BMI percentile is preferred for measuring children and young adults (ages 2–20) because it takes into account that they are still growing, and growing at different rates depending on their age and sex. Health professionals use growth charts to see whether a child’s weight falls into a healthy range for the child’s height, age, and sex.
Children with a BMI at or above the 85th percentile and less than the 95th percentile are considered overweight.
Children at or above the 95th percentile have obesity.
We’re successfully fighting the war on tobacco. Adults especially can’t turn to a stick of nicotine as easily as they once could to curb their appetite. Teen smoking is down as well, so their appetites may be up.
We like fast food. Its cheap, yummy and convenient. For 99 cents you can get a small burger that is served to you in a matter of minutes and can be eaten before your next meeting or class. Fast food contains excess calories, fat and preservatives that our body doesn’t need.
We eat too quickly. The speed at which we eat may affect our metabolism. Eating too quickly prevents a satiety signal from reaching the brain, hence we will gulp down more food than is needed. For more on this read here.
We don’t move around as much. We can all agree that children and adults these days don’t play outside as much as we did in previous generations. And even if we did get some exercise in each day during PE or at the gym, we lose much of the ground gained when we sit on our computers at night for hours on end.
More hormones are in our food. Hormones such as steroids and recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) that enhance food production in our food-producing animals may affect our metabolism.
Sugar isn’t a treat anymore, it’s considered a food group. In the 70’s if you got dessert one night at dinner it would be a rare treat. Today kids have dessert at lunch and even breakfast has sugar levels over flowing the cereal bowl. Excess sugar leads to fat storage.
Our portions have gotten bigger. Remember when the Quarter Pounder came out in the early 70’s and we thought it was the biggest burger ever? Now people will eat two in one sitting.
Below is a table showing the difference in portion sizes today vs. the 1950’s.
Make exercise not a choice but a daily necessity. Schools should have English class conducted on walks around the school rather than sitting in desks. A 30 minute workout should be a given every morning without excuses. We brush our teeth, we wash our hair, we gas up our truck, we exercise.
Eat fresh, avoid fast food. The more junk food the more junk in your trunk. Avoid preservatives and processed foods. Your body was designed to eat the basics. Give it what it needs.
Eat slowly. No need to chow down on the run. If you’re in a hurry then eat half the sandwich as save the rest for later. Which brings us to…
Eat smaller portions. Get rid of the platters you call plates these days and eat your dinner off of a saucer dish. You’ll still fill up your tummy.
Swap vegetables for carbs. It’s healthier, filling, and helps you poop.
Just say NO to sugar. This will be a hard one for me but if you do it, I will.

A Louisiana guy named John Thompson died last week. You may not recognize the name, but he was the victim of one of the worst cases of prosecutorial misconduct in the state’s history. Here are the facts.
Thompson was convicted back in 1982 of first-degree murder and given the death sentence. He came within days of being executed after spending 14 years on death row and 18 years total in prison. Five different prosecutors were involved in the case and all knew that a blood test and other key evidence had been hidden that showed Thompson was innocent.
On his deathbed dying of cancer, one of the prosecutors confessed to a colleague that he had hidden the exculpatory blood sample. The colleague waited five more years before admitting that he too knew of the hidden evidence. Thompson, after 18 years, received a new trial, and his lawyers were finally able to produce ten different pieces of evidence that had been kept from him, that overwhelming showed he was innocent. The new jury took less than 35 minutes to find him not guilty.
Hiding evidence that can find the accused innocent is nothing new for prosecutors in New Orleans, both in state and federal court as well as with the FBI. The Innocence Project of New Orleans reviewed a number of convictions over the past 25 years in the city and concluded that prosecutors gave a "legacy" of suppressing evidence. The Project said 36 men convicted in Orleans Parish alleged prosecutorial misconduct.
Nineteen have since had their sentences overturned or reduced as a result. According to the Innocence Project, favorable evidence was concealed in a quarter of the murder convictions from 1973-2002. In 19 of 25 non-capital cases, the prosecutors withheld favorable evidence; in the other six cases, the courts ruled that evidentiary hearings were needed.
With full justification, Thompson sued the prosecutor’s office in New Orleans for ripping away and stealing 18 years of his life. He had two sons that he never saw grow up. A New Orleans jury awarded him $14 million. Some said it was too much money. Would you give up 18 years of your life in solitary confinement on death row for $14 million? On appeal, the Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals, reputedly the most pro-prosecutorial circuit in the nation, upheld the award in favor of Thompson.
But a bitterly divided Supreme Court said to Thompson “no way.” In 2011's Connick v. Thompson, a conservative led 5-4 decision tossed Thompson's case out – not because they disagree that the prosecutor’s office hid evidence (in fact all 9 justices agree on that point). Instead they tossed the case because, in their divine judicial opinion, they didn’t see any “pattern” of the prosecutor’s office doing this to other people besides Thompson (because one life ruined is apparently not enough). Sounds like a John Grisham novel with a bad ending, right? If only that were so. Unfortunately, this is real life and John Thompson got nothing for his 18 years in jail. Not a red cent. Tough luck fella. The system failed you, but “stuff happens.”
This was not a decision based on a conservative interpretation of the law, even though the so-called conservative bloc voted in lockstep to deny Thompson’s claim. A true conservative justice would be strongly opposed to government oppression and the encroachment on the liberty of a falsely accused person. After all, when a prosecutor can operate with impunity, totally absent of any criminal or civil check on their actions, the seeds of fascism are planted. No, a true conservative judge would have held these rogue prosecutors fully accountable.
John Thompson, stunned by the Supreme Court's decision, spent the rest of his life working to help wrongly convicted inmates. He founded a group called Resurrection after Exoneration. Sadly, he did not have the financial resources that the lower courts rightly concluded should have paid to help him pursue his goal.
If there was ever any doubt about the lack of fairness, competence and fundamental decency among the current majority composition of the Supreme Court, such doubt was put to rest by a decision that would make any oppressive and dictatorial government proud. The judicial system failed John Thompson. Along with Lady Justice, we all should shed a tear.
