Furthering the ongoing act of political theatre, President Barack Obama is planning to lay a wreath at Ground Zero today. Interpreting the meaning of this scene of the play becomes easy when you understand the role of mainstream media (MSM). MSM plays into the script by creating, as filmmaker and philosopher Lenon Honor calls it, a culture of perpetual fear.
The cultural of perpetual fear is designed as a system of social control. It cannot live without mainstream media.
This jaunt is an attempt to squeeze as much political gain as possible from his Sunday night announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden. The problem is, he may find this to be as fruitful as trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip. Why? Obama is no longer riding the wave of hype and media adulation that he was three years ago.
The last time President Obama visited Ground Zero, he was running for the job of POTUS. In 2008, Ground Zero was a requisite stop for all candidates. After hugging a few babies and throwing in a couple of empty patriotic bromides, it was on to selling hope and change.
Today at 1:25 p.m. EST, President Obama is scheduled to participate at the wreath laying ceremony, and the MSM machine is in full swing.
According to the New York Daily News,
“The power of that requires no words,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said of the planned wreath-laying ceremony. “It will be a bittersweet moment for many of the families.”
This leads to the second MSM narrative, which is to rekindle the false “Bush vs. Obama” paradigm of ’08.
The Hill reports:
President George W. Bush, during whose presidency the attacks occurred, was invited to participate in the ceremony but declined to attend.
Angry: George Bush is said to be 'rubbed the wrong way' by Obama's lack of acknowledgement.
A highly placed Bush insider said: ‘He doesn’t feel personally snubbed and appreciates the invitation, but Obama’s claiming all the credit and a lot of other people deserve some of it.
‘Obama gave no credit whatsoever to the intelligence infrastructure the Bush administration set up that is being hailed from the left and right as setting in motion the operation that got Bin Laden.
The message today emanating from MSM sources will be clear, loud, and shrill: Obama is our savior. Re-elect him, vote a straight Democrat ticket in the 2012 elections, and prepare for more infringements on our civil liberties. The tools used to achieve this will be fear-based mind control and blind obedience masked as patriotism.
