Rep Ron Paul may not win the Republican nomination for president, but the prospect of him running as a third party candidate in the general election is not off the table, he says.
Paul, long a favorite of the Libertarian Party, is drawing enthusiastic support from its leaders, who are openly pushing him to consider a third party run for the White House.
“Absolutely, that would be fabulous,” said Jim Lesczynski, media relations director for the Manhattan Libertarian Party.
Lesczynski says his party agrees with Paul on most of the major issues, calling him an “ideal candidate.” He added that Paul will do better than he did four years ago, but ultimately thinks he will fail in his bid to gain the Republican nomination.

It looks like Ann Coulter is trying to sell another book. She made a few choice comments recently about sketchy allegations that Herman Cain sexually harassed a couple women.
“Liberals are terrified of Herman Cain. He is a strong conservative black man. Look at the way they go after Allen West and Michael Steele and they aren’t even running against Obama. They are terrified of strong, conservative, black men,” Coulter said.
So-called liberals and conservatives habitually engage in the same kind of smear tactics against each other. Bill Clinton’s sexual predator behavior almost brought down the presidency. Now we are told Herman Cain made “physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable.”
Coulter, of course, is playing the left-right paradigm, a game she is a master at exploiting in order to sell her venomous books to “conservatives” who are engaged in a diversionary “culture war” with “liberals.” In the meantime, the federal government grows larger and more repressive and the Democrat warmonger Obama continues and expands the Republican warmonger Bush’s wars.
The danger of Herman Cain has nothing to do with sexual harassment. It has to do with the fact he is the former director of the Kansas City Federal Reserve. He is a seasoned insider. If he is elected to the office of chief teleprompter reader, he will continue the disastrous economic policies that are destroying America.
