Suggests Paul campaign is deliberately out to “nail” him

Businessman Herman Cain has made remarks somewhat unbecoming of a presidential candidate, declaring his annoyance at “stupid” questions continually put to him by Ron Paul supporters.

The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO, who is running for the GOP nomination on a broadly libertarian platform, seems to have a problem with Paulites’ concerns regarding the Federal Reserve.

“I get the same stupid question at almost every one of these events,” Cain writes in a forthcoming book “This is Herman Cain,” to be released in early October.

According to the Daily Caller, which has obtained an advance copy of the book, Cain claims that Paul’s supporters are “threatened by me” and are “trying to destroy me on the fact that I was once affiliated with” the Federal Reserve.

Cain even has his own conspiracy theory that Paul’s campaign is deliberately sending people out to Cain events to attempt to discredit him:

“I know it’s a deliberate strategy.” Cain writes, “How can a person randomly show up at a hundred events and ask the same stupid question to try to nail me on the Federal Reserve?”

Is Cain serious? Clearly he has no concept of the determination and reach of Ron Paul’s grassroots support base. Paulites are focused and unwavering, just as their chosen candidate has been for thirty plus years.

Ron Paul has warned his supporters for three decades and more about the dangerous of a fraudulent fractional reserve banking system in the hands of private central bankers, and no one can legitimately argue any longer that those concerns have not been justified. Why is it so hard for Cain to accept that every Ron Paul supporter would share the same concerns?

Paul’s supporters have argued that Cain is not serious about reigning in the power of the Federal Reserve over US monetary policy, pointing to the fact that he was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1995 and 1996.

While Ron Paul has continually pushed to audit the Fed, Cain seemingly does not believe an audit is necessary:

“I have said: ‘I don’t think you’re going to find anything to audit on the Federal Reserve.’” Cain writes. “But they (Ron Paul supporters) want you to believe that Herman Cain doesn’t want the Federal Reserve to be audited.”

“It’s really becoming annoying more than anything else.” Cain states.

Polls have consistently revealed that at least 75% of the American people want a full audit of the Fed, and the majority were against reconfirming Bernanke.

Bloomberg noted last December:

A majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the nation’s independent central bank, saying the U.S. Federal Reserve should either be brought under tighter political control or abolished outright, a poll shows.

Americans across the political spectrum say the Fed shouldn’t retain its current structure of independence. Asked if the central bank should be more accountable to Congress, left independent or abolished entirely, 39 percent said it should be held more accountable and 16 percent that it should be abolished. Only 37 percent favor the status quo.

In light of these facts, Cain seems totally out of touch with what voters core concerns are, especially libertarian leaning republican and independent voters. To describe questions over the Federal Reserve as “stupid” and “annoying” betrays a disconnect with the American people on the whole.

Furthermore, for Cain to insinuate that Ron Paul’s campaign is deliberately seeking to sabotage Cain’s own platform smacks of desperation and paranoia to say the least.

Metal Detectors to be Introduced at Green Bay Packers Game

Gestapo zone tactics at NFL games will now include fans being scanned with metal detecting wands, according to a news report in Wisconsin.

“The National Football League is pushing for enhanced security, and starting with Sunday’s [Green Bay Packers] game at Lambeau, all fans will be subject to a hand-held, metal-detecting wand test before being admitted,” the Appleton Post-Crescent reports today.

The “scans” will be similar to those conducted at airports, according to Doug Collins, Packers director of security.

“We think it’s a more thorough process, without having the hands-on in particular. We understand there has been some negativity out there from what the (Transportation Security Administration) has done. … This just eliminates that process,” Collins said. “Pretty much the whole body will be scanned with the hand wand.”

Lt. Kevin Warych of the Green Bay Police said bags will still be searched at the stadium.

The metal detector wand procedure conducted on fans at stadiums also appears to have originated with Homeland Security.

In November of 2010, Homeland Security boss Janet Napolitano said body scanners would eventually find their way into U.S. public transportation, trains and boats. “I think the tighter we get on aviation, we have to also be thinking now about going on to mass transit or to trains or maritime. So, what do we need to be doing to strengthen our protections there?” she said.

The effort to strip football fans of their Fourth Amendment began after a Dallas Cowboys fan was arrested with a Taser on September 11.

Following the incident, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said there would be changes in security procedures at stadiums.

On September 16, Alex Jones called for a boycott of the NFL. Jones argued that the intrusive pat-down procedure is part of an effort to acclimate the populace to the police state.

Former Governor Calls For Paul-Ventura Ticket

Jesse Ventura says libertarian alliance would create “incredible excitement”

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura has sensationally called for Ron Paul to quit the Republican Party in order to form a Paul-Ventura libertarian ticket that can take on the establishment candidates in the race for the White House in 2012.

“Ron Paul can win, all you’ve got to do is activate and get the silent voters out to vote,” Ventura told the Alex Jones Show, adding that a Ron Paul-Ventura Libertarian ticket would create “incredible excitement”.

“Ron Paul needs to quit the Republican Party, get the nomination for the Libertarian Party,” said Ventura, adding that he would consider being in a Ron Paul cabinet if the Congressman won.

“I would be his best choice because I would be a great insurance policy,” joked Ventura, noting that nothing would happen to Ron Paul because it would mean he would be in power and would cause the establishment even greater problems than the Congressman.

Ventura cautioned that he would have to consult his wife before committing to being Ron Paul’s VP, but that he would be willing if she gave the green light.

During the interview, Alex brought up the point that if Paul does not take the GOP nomination he could run with Ventura on the Libertarian ticket or as an independent and keep vital issues alive during the 2012 presidential race.

Others have remarked that Ron Paul is blazing the trail for his son Rand Paul. “I know a lot of people in the movement are looking at Rand Paul further down the road,” Paul’s New Hampshire campaign chairman, state Sen. Jim Forsythe recently told Politico.

Ventura has a notable post when it comes to running as an anti-establishment figure and being successful. He captured the Minnesota Governorship in 1998 by spending far less money to defeat the two major party candidates with an aggressive, populist, grass roots campaign.

Facebook Caught Taking User Information, Quick to Fix

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Thanks to self-proclaimed “entrepreneur, hacker, and writer” Nik Cubrilovic, Facebook was forced to fix a cookie that was tracking its 750 million users even after logout.

Australian blogger Cubrilovic claims he has known about this flaw since last year. He says he contacted Facebook repeatedly with this information, but the problem was never fixed resulting in Cubrilovic going public in his blog. One day later, Facebook announced it has fixed the flaw in the cookie that contained identification information.

Cubrilovic said he took part in a conference call with Facebook engineers and communications staff, according to The Australian. During the call, the social network giant admitted it collected and uploaded data after users were logged out, but said it did not use identification data.

Facebook, like nearly every website, stores cookies on your computer for a variety of purposes – some good and some bad. In Facebook’s case, the cookie could track your online movements and information after you logged out.

Some believe this data could have been sold to advertisers – possibly garnering billions of dollars.

The Australian reports that, “Queensland University of Technology security expert Bill Caelli described the flaw as a ‘goldmine’ for hackers.”

Facebook seems to be playing the trust-me-card innocently saying in a statement: “There was no security breach. Facebook did not store any information it should not have.”

Often, exposing flaws in companies – such as done by Nik Cubrilovic – is the best way to evoke change in a world where people’s information is being sold to marketers and other third parties.

Last week, General Motors announced it would gather and use data collected by OnStar subscribers as well as those who canceled their plan but kept the OnStar equipment in their vehicle.

Due to public revolt of the change, GM announced a reversal of its original decision.

Fisher Says Central Bank Is Under Attack From Ron Paul, Barney Frank

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Bloomberg

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher said the central bank’s independence is under attack from both ends of the political spectrum in Congress, and he singled out two of the critics by name.

Ron Paul End The Fed

“We are being attacked from the right and from the left, and I don’t see much difference between a certain congressman from Texas named Ron Paul and a certain congressman from Massachusetts named Barney Frank,” Fisher said in response to audience questions after a speech in Dallas. Paul is a Republican and Frank is a Democrat.

Fisher’s remarks are uncommon among central bank officials, who tend to defer to Congress and its members, said Sung Won Sohn, former chief economist at Wells Fargo & Co. The Dallas Fed chief is the only member of the Federal Open Market Committee to have run for Congress, losing as a Democrat to Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison twice, in 1993 and 1994.

His comments are “true as a factual matter,” said Sohn, who served as a White House staff economist under Richard Nixon from 1973 to 1974 and is now a professor at California State University-Channel Islands. “But a person in the position of president of a Federal Reserve bank should be careful about what he says and how he says it because the Fed actually reports to Congress and Congress can do anything it wants to the Fed.”
