Witchcraft: Carole Smith, a Wiccan, was fired after a complaint was made against her that she cast spells on her colleagues. (Photo: Mail Online)

As if we needed yet another reason to have the TSA removed from our airports (and lives), the Transportation Security Agency just fired a woman because of her religion. Of course they were just sloppy enough to throw in some other claims, but it boils down to religion.

Carole A. Smith is a Wiccan, otherwise known as a witch, who was classified by her employer as satisfactory. She was among the top ten in catching weapons via x-ray. Unfortunately her former trainer claimed she was afraid of Smith’s religion and that Smith put a spell on her car, causing the heater not to work.

I have seen some pretty horrid examples of what the TSA calls an employee; some of them used to be low-wage airport security. But this agency needs to take a serious look at its hiring policies. I don’t know about you but I’d be horrified to have an employee who was afraid of someone else’s religion and accused them of placing a spell on their car. The ignorance is staggering.

Plutonium Found in Soils Near Fukushima, But Governments Say There’s Nothing to Worry About

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

by Mike Adams
Natural News

(Photo: REUTERS/Tokyo Electric Power) Japan has gone into a state of "maximum alert" after plutonium was found in the soil around the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant and radioactive water leaked from a reactor in the plant.

In the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear meltdown catastrophe, plutonium has now been found in soil samples taken from five locations around Fukushima. Yes, plutonium. But here’s the real whopper: The media is reporting “Officials insist that the plutonium poses no threat to humans.” (http://news.xinhuanet.com/english20…)

Seriously. I never thought I’d read in the press that “plutonium poses no threat to humans,” but then again, there’s practically nothing in the news these days that isn’t distorted in order to either misinform or de-educate the masses.

Along similar lines, the TSA today applauded the publication of a new study in a conventional medical journal which claims that airport naked body scans are also perfectly safe for you (just like plutonium, eh?) (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-…).

On both the TSA’s naked body scanners as well as nuclear meltdowns, the message from the government is exactly the same: Don’t worry, what’s a little fallout anyway? It’s all good for ya!

Oh yeah, and mammograms are good for you, too. So is chemotherapy, and vaccines, and mercury fillings and fluoride in the water. Why not just dispose of all the radioactive water from Fukushima by dumping it into the public water supply and announcing it “prevents cavities?” (Don’t repeat this too loudly, or some bureaucrat might actually overhear you and run with this idea…)

Latest status of the six reactors
• Reactor No. 1: Cooling systems still not functional. Reactor core damaged. Lights are on inside the building.

• Reactor No. 2: High radiation. Partial core meltdown admitted. Containment vessel likely damaged by the explosion.

• Reactor No. 3: Deadly MOX fuel. Very high radiation detected in cooling water. Partial core meltdown admitted. Cooling pumps are not working and radiation is too high to allow workers to fix them. Building severely damaged by explosion. Cooling pool may also be damaged.

• Reactor No. 4: Cooling water levels are low and efforts are being made to replenish the water levels.

• Reactor No. 5: Cooling pumps are working, the situation appears stable. This reactor was offline when the tsunami hit.

• Reactor No. 6: Appears to be safely under control. Cooling pumps are operating. This reactor was offline when the tsunami hit.

Herman Cain Assailed as ‘Bigoted’ Over Muslim Remarks

Monday, March 28th, 2011

By Shannon Travis
CNN

A leading Muslim advocacy group accused potential presidential candidate Herman Cain of spewing “bigoted speech” Monday following remarks he made at a conservative conference last weekend.

While attending the Conservative Principles Conference last weekend in Iowa, Cain told a reporter- if he became president – he would not appoint a Muslim to his cabinet or as a federal judge.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) expressed outrage on Monday, saying Cain’s words show how “right wing” conservatives are currently engaging in Muslim bashing.

“Even post 9/11 you didn’t have this level of mainstreaming of anti-Muslim hate as you have now,” said Ibrahim Hooper, National Communications Director for CAIR.

Cain’s comments came in response to a question from a reporter for liberal-leaning Think Progress about potentially appointing a Muslim in a Cain administration.

“No, I will not,” Cain responded. “And here’s why. There is this creeping attempt, there is this attempt to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government. It does not belong in our government. This is what happened in Europe. And little by little, to try and be politically correct, they made this little change, they made this little change. And now they’ve got a social problem that they don’t know what to do with hardly.”

Sharia law is derived from the Quran, the holy book of Islam. It informs Muslims with rules on how to live their everyday lives – including how to fast and how to pray. Some Muslim countries use Sharia law as a basis for their laws, particularly concerning crimes against Allah, against society and crimes of revenge.

Cain continued by recounting a question he’d recently received.

“I was asked, ‘What is the role of Islam in America?’ I thought it was an odd question. I said, ‘The role of Islam in America is for those that believe in Islam to practice it and leave us alone. Just like Christianity. We have a First Amendment. And I get upset when the Muslims in this country – some of them – try to force their Sharia law onto the rest of us.’”

Paul: New Health Care Law Is Dangerous

Monday, March 28th, 2011

By Sen. Rand Paul
Roll Call

President Barack Obama’s national health care scheme — Obamacare — became law one year ago last week, and if it is allowed to stand, it poses a danger to the health, freedom and economic well-being of all Americans.

For the first time in U.S. history, the federal government will force you to purchase health insurance. Not just any insurance, but one approved by a government bureaucrat.

The proponents of this law do not seem to understand or care about the consequences.

They do not care if you cannot afford it. They do not care if you have a plan you like better. They do not care about the effect this will have on our struggling economy, or that it adds to our already crippling debt. Obamacare will ultimately lead to harmful results. In fact, it already has. And the more we learn about it, the more problems we discover.

Of course, during the so-called debate about this bill, we were famously told not to worry about what was in it, that we’d learn about it later. Here’s what we’ve learned.

We’ve learned there are new taxes and regulations on business estimated to cost billions of dollars per year.

We’ve learned the administration promise that you can “keep your own plan” was a lie.

The American people are also beginning to see the very real consequences of this big-government meddling. In the past year, premiums for health insurance have increased. Businesses have started to drop health coverage for their employees and even lay people off because of the costs associated with Obamacare’s mandates and regulations. A few days ago, the CEO of Starbucks, once a supporter of the measure, said the effect of it will be too great for businesses to deal with.

FDA Asks Maker of Tainted Wipes to Stop Production

Monday, March 28th, 2011

By JoNel Aleccia
MSNBC

The federal Food and Drug Administration is asking a Wisconsin firm tied to infections and death blamed on contaminated medical wipes to voluntarily stop making and distributing its drug products, msnbc.com has learned.

The move is aimed at halting operations at H&P Industries Inc., which does business as the Triad Group of Hartland, Wis., said Michael C. Rogers, the FDA’s acting director of the Office of Regional Operations. It comes at the conclusion of an intense, week-long inspection that concluded Monday, Rogers said.

“We have evidence that shows this firm made and distributed products with a variety of opportunistic pathogens,” Rogers said.

A spokeswoman for H&P Industries Inc. said firm officials were reviewing the request and had no immediate comment.

The cease-and-desist request follows a series of msnbc.com news reports about inspections at the Triad Group plant and massive recalls of alcohol prep wipes, povidone iodine prep wipes and lubricating jelly all suspected of bacterial contamination.

The alcohol wipes, which were recalled for potential contamination with the bacteria Bacillus cereus, have been blamed for several serious infections and the death of a 2-year-old boy in Houston.
